Twitter is a social networking site that allows users to connect with others around the world by “following each other” and posting messages of 140 characters or less. Much different than Facebook, Twitter functions to entertain and promote.
The only way to completely protect yourself on Twitter is to make sure you are not giving away personal information in your posts or account description. You never know who is behind the account that follows you.
Twitter also enables users to add location to their tweets, meaning they can include their general vicinity of a town at the time of a post. Users should be careful when utilizing this this aspect of the app or website because it then allows millions of others, depending on your privacy settings, to see your location.
